Last Saturday, almost 70 volunteers of all ages, planted 10,000 crocus bulbs in our historic churchyard for The Thompson Memorial Crocus Lawn! The planting event gave us a special opportunity for fellowship with parishioners and community members on a sunny fall day.
We are eager to see the blanket of purple flowers blossom during our Lenten Season (late February and early March) for decades to come!
A BIG THANK YOU to the planters and the generous bulb donations from 38 parish families, Chesapeake Coffee, and the Country Thyme Gardening Club.
Much appreciation to the Crocus Committee for their upfront work and planning to make this happen: Sande Taylor, Linda Hunt, Linda Gibeck, Vickie Schultheiss, Barb & George Balog, Bruce England, Dawn Rodenbaugh, Bill Weisel, Kathi Lichtenstein, and Fr. John and Karen Schaeffer.
It’s a beautiful tribute to Jim and Diane Thompson the founders of The St. Mary Anne’s Garden Market. To learn more about the event, check out today’s front page article and pictures in The Cecil Whig!
