2021 SMA Garden Market Cancellation
It is with sadness that we share that the 2021 St. Mary Anne’s Garden Market is being cancelled this year due to the pandemic. Progress is being made with vaccinations and we currently have other hopeful signs regarding the pandemic’s metrics that give us hope that we may be turning another corner on this pandemic. However, we are unable to predict when the Governor and our Diocese will change policy that precludes large gatherings, and when people will feel safe and willing to attend them. We look forward to possibilities later this year to replace this important event and fundraiser and look forward to making the 2022 Garden Market extra special. (posted 2/16/2021)
As part of our mission and ministry, we host an annual GARDEN MARKET on our beautiful and historic church campus. During this two day event, over 50 garden-related vendors from the tri-state area sell flowers, trees and shrubs for spring planting. Over 4,000 visitors walk through our gates during our family friendly event.
Our guests are treated to an amazing array of beautiful spring flowers and plants. They also have the opportunity to shop for natural soaps, fresh produce, pottery, and garden themed ornaments and statuary. Our Bake Table is fresh with delicious homemade treats, and our food vendors provide a delectable selection of food including famous Maryland crab soup and pit beef sandwiches. And inside our Parish Center, we have our popular Silent Auction!
Throughout this beautiful spring–rain or shine–two day event, our guests enjoy and celebrate nature, meet their neighbors, and enjoy free entertainment by local musicians. For the children, we have activities including duck races and marigold flower potting. Church tours reveal some local history and our beautiful worship space. Our Silent Auction provides the opportunity to get a treasure or two. There is a lot to see and do at this fun community event!
Please note: Visitors are urged to bring a wagon to hold their purchases, but to keep their pets at home. Admission is free, but we encourage your support and generosity at vendor and ministry booths.
