Ushers are Needed!

March 23, 2021 by St Mary Anne Admin

Ushers are still needed for our Sunday services! Right now, we only have one usher scheduled per service and we need at least two.
Ushers are the “face” of the church, the first ones that people see when they arrive and the last ones they see as they leave. It is important that an usher be friendly, caring, and willing to serve.
If this describes you, then you are needed to help fill our many open Usher positions. Please contact Fr. John or Jim Siglow if interested.

New Ministry to Help the Homeless

March 23, 2021 by St Mary Anne Admin

Can you make 10 sandwiches,
and/or a batch of cookies to feed the homeless?
If you can, the Mission Committee can use your help. We will assist the Paris Foundation with their work in Elkton, by providing a simple bagged meal for approximately 70 people, on the first Tuesday of the month for the next 8 months.
The Church will supply some of the meal, and we hope you will join us by making the rest: sandwiches and desserts. Sandwiches with cold cuts and cheese (no condiments) packed in individual Ziploc bags as well as finger food desserts i.e.: cookies or bars, also packed in individual Ziploc bags. You would prepare those items for 10 people–in your own kitchen–and only commit to our first date, Tuesday, April 6.
We ask that you deliver your food items to our Parish Center by 1:30 pm on April 6th. The Mission Committee will assemble the meals, add a prayer brochure prepared by Fr. John, and help serve them at the Foundation’s distribution site. Join us in sharing God’s love with those who need it most!
Contact Rick Waterhouse: 410-658-2509 or email for more information.

Crocus Watch

March 6, 2021 by St Mary Anne Admin

We are eager for the first year’s bloom of crocus in our newly established Thompson Memorial Crocus Lawn! Last fall, we planted 10,000 crocus bulbs in our historic churchyard.

Some observant eyes spotted crocus blooming close to the bell tower’s left side, and a handful near the Balog family’s gravesite. Others have appeared smack in the middle of the graveyard about halfway between the Vestry house and the gravel drive.

Please realize that first year bulbs typically bloom after more established ones, so it may take a few more days of warmth and sunshine before more emerge. Right now, the blossoms are quite delicate and sporadic but in subsequent years the crocus bulbs will multiply, so the springtime display of blossoms will be quite spectacular!

Patience is a virtue…especially in gardening!
