Hiroya Tsukamoto is an innovative guitarist and composer who fuses folk, jazz, and world music. Born and raised in Japan, in 2000 he received a scholarship to Berklee College of music and came to the U.S. Tsukamoto’s instrumental abilities are indeed breathtaking and astounding, but his performances are so much more than that, Tsukamoto plays with an effortless skill on the guitar and a repertoire that will have you traveling the world, not to mention experiencing new sounds with his own compositions.

The North Elk Coffee House is a ministry of St. Mary Anne’s. Proceeds, after costs, are donated to Meeting Ground, a local organization helping homeless individuals in Cecil County.

Performance by Unheard Sounds

 

Featuring musicians: Joel Alarcon Sr./Violin, Fabio Dantas Costa, Viola/Guitar, Cesar Colmenares/Cello

 

Unheard Sounds is a mixture of all genres of music from Classical to pop played with a combination of violin, viola, and cello. Each musician brings their own cultural flavor to the performance. Imagine hearing music like ‘what a wonderful world’ played with the colors of the cello, or hearing ‘Smooth Criminal’ by Michael Jackson played on the sharp sound of the violin. Not only will you enjoy hearing your favorite music played in a unique way, you will also experience the sounds that come from mixing the violin, viola/guitar, and cello.

*All Coffee House proceeds beyond costs are donated to Meeting Ground, an organization serving the homeless in Cecil County, MD.
