One of the most popular of our outreach projects is the Giving Tree, which commits to providing Christmas gifts for local children who would otherwise do without. As in years past, Linda Hunt has collected names from local schools of children whose families are in difficulty. She will hand out these names on November 20th, along with specifications to help with present selection. All gifts are to be brought to the Parish House on Sunday, December 18th; distribution to the parents will be on Tuesday, December 20th.
8th Annual Stockings for Soldiers
Crouch Funeral Home and the North East community have generously supported a Stocking for Soldiers Campaign for the past eight years. Last year they were able to ship 1,171 stockings to 8 units oversees, and to the veterans at Perry Point VA Hospital. They make an effort to send stockings to local soldiers and their units. Crouch Funeral Home supplies the stockings and the postage to mail the boxes. They ask for you to fill the stockings with items such as, hard candy, gum, multi-vitamins, eye drops, sunblock, cards, etc. Pick-up a copy of detailed instructions and gift suggestions on Sunday. The deadline for filled stockings is December 5th.

Suitcases are Needed!
Promise in Sight is in urgent need of donations of large suitcases for carrying medical equipment to Nicaragua for the January 2017 medical brigade. Promise in Sight is an organization of volunteer eye care professionals that makes an annual trip to Nicaragua to provide vision care and surgeries procedures to those who do not have access to vision care. Our mission committee has donated funds on behalf of the church; and several parishioners have participated with this organization, and have generously donated used eyeglasses and suitcases in the past. Suitcases can be left in the Parish Hallway, near the bench. Thanks!
Mission Trip!
Youth Mission Trip begins on Saturday!
Please keep Joe, Peter, Chris, Hannah and Dana in your prayers as they travel to Costa Rica with other youth from the Episcopal Diocese of Easton. Their flight leaves on Saturday and they will return on July 31st.
While there, they will help build a church and participate in VBS. They will bring and share 36 Spanish bibles donated by our parish. We are prayerful that God will give wisdom to those speaking and teaching, and listening ears to the people they come in contact with during the trip.
Please pray for their safe travel:
“O God, our heavenly Father, whose glory fills the whole creation, and whose presence we find wherever we go: Preserve those who travel, in particular our Youth Mission Trip; surround them with your loving care; protect them from every danger; and bring them in safety to their journey’s end; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.”
