Coffee & Conversations 2nd Sundays-between church services
Our St. Mary Anne’s Quilters kept busy this past year creating a beautiful new quilt to raffle off at this year’s Garden Market. The floral hand-pieced, queen-sized quilt is a “Rose of Sharon” pattern and features rose, French blue and cream colored fabrics. It is now on display in the Parish Hall.
Raffle tickets are $5.00 each or 5 for $20.00. You can purchase your tickets on Sunday, April 27 during Coffee Hour or during the Garden Market. Proceeds will benefit the quilter’s SMA Pastoral Quilt Ministry, which provides handmade lap quilts for parishioners who reside in long-term care communities or are homebound.
The quilt will be on display at the Garden Market’s SMA Quilters booth, so be sure to stop by and purchase raffle tickets. Two additional quilts will be auctioned at the booth, and a collection of microwave bowl cozies, neck warmers, and dinner napkin sets will be available for purchase.
We are pleased to recognize the work and talents of the following SMA Quilters: Dru Torregrossa, Jacqui McMullen, Pat Wagner, Wendy Gilbert, Judy Hartman, Phyllis Doyle and Linda Gibeck. We also give appreciation to Susan Zerr, a financial contributor to the group.

Palm Sunday, April 13, 2025 A Procession of Palms begins on Hoopes Court at 8AM and 10AM.
We celebrate a two-part service. First, we read the Liturgy of the Palms outside the Sanctuary and then process into the Church waving our palm branches and singing. Next, we have the Liturgy of the Word. It is a dramatic reading of Jesus Last Supper, his betrayal, his trial and crucifixion.
Holy Wednesday, April 16, 2025 Labyrinth Walk; Parish Center; 4-7PM
Walk the Labyrinth in our Parish Hall anytime between 4-7PM on Wednesday. We offer the opportunity to focus more deeply on Jesus’ life, and our own journey, as we walk a labyrinth with prayer meditation.
Maundy Thursday, April 17, 2025
At 6:30 PM, we have our Maundy Thursday service with music.
Stripping of the Altar is at the conclusion of the Maundy Thursday service.
The Night Watch begins following the Stripping of the Altar. To participate, signup this Sunday or call the church office at 410-287-5522. Watches are in 1-hour increments; feel welcome to sign up for more than 1 hour.
Good Friday, April 18, 2025
At Noon, we commemorate the crucifixion of Jesus with a Good Friday service
At 3:00PM, Father John will conduct a Way of Cross service for the Stations of the Cross.
Following both services, the church remains open until 6PM for Stations of the cross and personal prayer.
Easter Sunday, April 20, 2025, we bring back the “Alleluia’s” as we celebrate the Resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ with three services
6:30AM Rite II Riverfront Service
8:00AM Rite II Church Service
9:45 Easter Egg Hunt in the Churchyard
10:00AM Rite II Church Service
Because of the Easter holiday, we will be holding Coffee House on the second Saturday instead of our usual third Saturday. The next Coffee House will be Saturday April 12th, when we will welcome Brody Bond from Baltimore. He last played for us in January of 2024.
The times remain the same with doors opening at 6:30 and music beginning at 7:00. Suggested donation is $15 and proceeds beyond the fee paid to the performers will go to Meeting Ground for their work with the homeless in Cecil County.

We anticipate a glorious Easter celebration in our sanctuary this year, and our Flower Committee is preparing beautiful altar and flowers for the church.
At this time, we seek donations to help offset the costs of flowers and materials. We’ll have our palms for Palm Sunday, the Garden of Repose for the Night Watch on Maundy Thursday, and the Flowering Cross on Easter Sunday for children to come forward and place daffodils on the cross.
The Easter flower envelopes are now in the church. If you do not have an envelope and wish to donate, you may donate online or mail a check in any amount made payable to St. Mary Anne’s and marked “Easter Flowers”.
Be sure to include the name(s) of those you would like to remember, honor, or for whom you are thankful. In order to have names included in the Easter bulletin, please respond by Thursday, April 17th.
