Childcare Volunteers are Needed

June 23, 2016 by St Mary Anne Admin

childcareWe are in need of volunteers to provide childcare during our 10:30AM Sunday Services. With multiple volunteers, we can have a rotating schedule and this will enable parents to worship. We will assist with training and appropriate clearances as required by the Diocese of Easton.

Childcare will be provided in the Vestry House until the classrooms are made ready for our church school program in September. The church school program will be held between the two Sunday services, so childcare during the 10:30 service will be an ongoing need. Please consider helping with this worthwhile ministry. See Father John for questions and interest.

June 23, 2016 by St Mary Anne Admin

learning journeyAdult Education is back! 9:30-10:15 in our Parish Hall. We’ll begin with….

The Story of Anglicanism. An exceptional history of the Anglican Church on DVD narrated in three half-hour parts by actor Michael York. Study Guide provided.

Fr. John will answer questions after each session.

July 10- Part 1: Ancient and Medieval Foundations. The roots of our tradition are traced in the evolution and mission and ministry of the pre-Reformation English Church.

July 17-No adult education program due to John Thyhsen postlude concert between services

July 24- Part 2: Reformation and Its Consequences. Henry VIII’s often misunderstood break with papal authority initiates the shaping of classical Anglicanism.

July 31- 5th Sunday- Parish Picnic- no adult education program

August 7- Hymns and Hymnody, an introduction to Church Music with Director of Music Steve McBride

August 14-Part 3: Creating a Global Family. The Anglican genius for adaptation is seen in its response to the modern world and its evolution into a worldwide communion.

June 9, 2016 by St Mary Anne Admin

Attention kids and parents!

summer funTake Out Church is a fun way to take “church with you” this Summer! Pick up your Take Out Church Box this Sunday and enjoy all the fun activities inside with the whole family! There are crafts, games, music, even a Flat Jesus to come with you on all your adventures! Each box contains a prayer dice, music CD, Skittles prayer bag, Loving your Neighbor bag, a Thanksgiving beach ball craft, conversation starters, coloring pages, colored pencils and a sharpener, a sheet of Bible apps for your devices, and, of course, your very own Flat Jesus, complete with instructions on how to upload pictures of your adventures with Him to our church website, all in a compact box for easy travel. Bible Study

May 13, 2016 by St Mary Anne Admin

bible study

We plan to start a Lectionary Bible Study program again in the near future. This small group will meet in the Conference Room of the Parish House and will be held during the time between services. We will supply Bibles if needed and the Quarterly Study Material for use. A lectionary is a list of scriptural texts (called “lections”) recommended for daily use in worship or study, in our case on each Sunday. The format of The Revised Common Lectionary Bible Study is designed so that people with very little teaching or Bible study experience can lead a group through the weekly lessons. If you would like to participate either as a study leader or be in the Group, please see Fr. John or call the Church Office.
