Family Financial Resources Workshops

Four financial and educational workshops for the public, entitled “Family Financial Resources” will be presented by The Garrity Group in our Parish Center this fall.
Michael Garrity, is a licensed insurance and retirement planner who is affiliated with New York Life. He will co-present with Rick Darvis, C.P.A. Speakers are from the Aristotle Education Foundation, a non-profit company.

  • Increasing Your Retirement Income; Saturday, October 6; 9:30-11AM
  • Maximizing Tax Benefits of the New Tax Law; Saturday, October 27; 9:30-11AM
  • Charitable Gifting under the New Tax Law; Saturday, November 3; 9:30-11AM
Each presentation will be followed by a time for Q&A. Plus, all of the workshops will be recorded and they will be available to the participants for FREE.

Blessing of the Backpacks

Start off the new school year right with a blessing!
Parent’s don’t forget that this Sunday, September 9th, we will be blessing backpacks for the start of the school year–at both services!
Please encourage your school-age children to bring their backpack to church for a blessing!

Rector Emeritus

DSC_0071The Rev. Dr. Samuel H. Hartman, rector of St. Mary Anne’s from 1990-2013, is now “Rector Emeritus” of our parish. Father John and Bishop San, along with the parish, bestowed this title on Father Sam during the Bishop’s visit last Sunday.
This title acknowledges an ongoing relationship of affection as we pledge to hold him in prayer for his health and happiness. Moreover, we dedicate ourselves as a parish to faithfulness to his legacy in the characteristics of his ministry: Joy and zest in following Jesus; faithful preaching of the Gospel; delight in solid liturgy; and a heart for all God’s children.

The Bishop’s Visit

Last Sunday’s visit by Bishop Santosh Marray was a wonderful celebration. We kept him very busy during our two services!

He received: Adam, Ethan and Elizabeth Reynolds; Ron and Joy Himmel; Paula England; Andrew and Theresa Tonge; Donna Boyd; Marshall Patchell; David Hargarten; Cathy Edge; Joanne Zecca-Veater; Karen Dryden; and Thomas and Elaine Brickner

Dream Big and Leave a Legacy Scholarship Recipient

scholarship flood familyOn June 3rd,  our first Dream Big and Leave a Legacy Scholarship, initiated by a generous gift of the Flood family, was awarded to North East High School graduate and parishioner, Ethan Kyger. He is the grandson of Kathy Mullen.

Ethan is an 8:00AM parishioner who helps with ushering, coffee hours, and is a Lector. He also assisted with our Parish Center renovations. He will be confirmed by Bishop Marray this Sunday.

Ethan was awarded an eighteen-hundred-dollar scholarship. This generous scholarship will help him with tuition and books as he attends Cecil College in the fall.
