Bell Ringing

October 3, 2017 by St Mary Anne Admin

We are deeply saddened by the tragic shooting that occurred in Las Vegas on Sunday night. Episcopal Bishops throughout the United States have requested all Episcopal Churches to ring their bells today at noon, at least 58 times, to commemorate those who perished in Sunday evening’s tragedy.
Fr. John invites parishioners to join in and help with the bell ringing. He will say a few short prayers at the conclusion.

The church will be open at 11:45 a.m.

God is our refuge and strength,
an ever present help in trouble.
Psalm 46:1

September Outreach Pantry Needs

September 21, 2017 by St Mary Anne Admin

cleaning suppliesWe like to have cleaning supplies and paper products in our Outreach pantry, to help free our client’s funds for more essential grocery items. We could use: toilet paper, paper towels, dish detergent, laundry detergent, and an all-purpose cleaner.
If you can pick up a few of these items for our September Pantry Drive, and bring them to church on the 24th to be blessed, our clients and our budget would be ever so grateful. Thank you!

Blessing of the Animals–St. Francis Day

September 21, 2017 by St Mary Anne Admin

blessing of animalsJoin us on Sunday, October 8th as we bless our beloved pets at our 8:00AM and 10:00AM services.
If the weather is pleasant, our services and blessings will be outside. If it is raining cats and dogs, we will meet in the Parish Hall.
We all enjoy meeting your favorite family pets–so be sure to bring them for a blessing!

Dream Big–Leave a Legacy College Fund

September 21, 2017 by St Mary Anne Admin

scholarship dreamAs we begin our new school year, we are pleased to announce the formation of the ” Dream Big–Leave a Legacy” College Scholarship Fund.

This Fund is founded on the following beliefs:
  • We have an obligation to live our Baptismal Covenant. An essential element of this covenant is to “respect the dignity of every human being.” The “Dream Big – Leave a Legacy” fund is an opportunity for each of us to live our Baptismal Covenant and uphold the “I will, with God’s help” response to the questions of our Baptismal Covenant.
  • Education is a key element to overcoming many societal issues.
  • Every person has the right to “Dream Big.”
This college scholarship fund is created especially for youth with big dreams who may need financial assistance to attend college. Furthermore, this fund is established with the “Big Dream” it will one day grow large enough–through the generous gifts of many–that it may annually fund one-year of college tuition, from its income alone, to a student that is known as a member of St. Mary Anne’s parish family with their own “Big Dream.”
Initially this fund has been established with $25,000, in the loving memory of Elizabeth Jayne and Harold Arthur Flood, by their children Victoria, Rebecca, and Andrew.  However, our “Big Dream” is that many people contribute to the principal and expand this memorial to include the names of your loved ones.
The “Dream Big – Leave a Legacy” college scholarship fund is founded on the beliefs described herein and these principles summarized by St. Paul in his letter to the Philippians (4:8): Whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
Scholarship criteria and guidelines, for interested high school students, will be distributed this fall. Your donations to this fund are welcome at anytime. Together, we can help future generations, “Dream Big and Leave a Legacy”.

Youth Group

September 1, 2017 by St Mary Anne Admin

youth groupWhat a Blessing!

Our Youth Group is Growing!

We need two leaders who are able to attend most youth group meetings.

Youth group meetings are held the 2nd & 4th Sunday’s from 1-3 PM. One meeting a month is a lesson/activity done at the Church; the other is usually an off campus activity, i.e. bowling, escape room, mission opportunities.

We also need helpers who can commit to one Sunday a month.  The helpers assist with beverages,     transportation to off-campus activities, and purchase supplies.  The leader would let you know if they need something special.

We are forming a Youth Group Committee. This group will meet two times a year to review what’s       happening in youth group, provide input for activities, coordinate when meals are needed, or take on a special onetime activity, i.e. help with fund raising,  shopping, etc.

Training will be provided for all ministries relating to Youth Group.

If you have any questions or are interested in this ministry, please let Fr. John, Janice Flood or the VPOW know.

Our youth are the future of our church!

Please consider assisting with this ministry.
