Each year we lose thousands of people from drug overdose globally. Some survive but suffer a permanent injury, with devastating impact to their families and friends.
North East is not immune. You may have seen it, it has happened to people around you. Tomorrow, it could happen to someone you love. This is not an invisible issue.
International Overdose Awareness Day provides an opportunity for us to reflect on practical ways to prevent overdose in our community. Overdose is preventable. Knowing the real facts about drugs and what to do when you see someone experiencing an overdose DOES save lives. Overdose Day events that aim to educate our communities about drugs can really help.
At St. Mary Anne’s, we are playing our part to support the day with a candlelight vigil onThursday, August 31 st at 7:00PM .
The event will help you understand how overdose affects every single one of us and how you can make a difference. During our service, we will ring our historic bell for everyone who has died by a drug overdose in Cecil County during the past year.
Let’s take a united stand against drug abuse. Please come and pray for our neighbors and our community.

Line Dancing

Maryland Department of Aging is having a 6-week Line Dancing Class in our Parish Hall. Learn to dance on   Tuesdays from July 11 to August 22, 2017; 12:30PM to 1:30PM. (*No class on July 25th).
You will learn and memorize fun, new dance steps, as you exercise your body and brain.  Even if you are brand new to line dancing, you are sure to have a great time. Open to parishioners who are 55+. Sign up ASAP with Jen Silverman.

Community Thanksgiving Service

A North East Community Thanksgiving Service will be held at North East United Methodist Church (308 S. Main St. North East) on November 21st. This ecumenical service will feature pastors and ministers from many faith traditions. Fr. John will be doing the Eucharist portion of this worship service, and some of our choir members and Steve will participate. Please join us.
