Our Outreach Office’s renovation is almost complete! It reopened on Monday with fresh painted walls and new flooring. Within the next week or so, we anticipate the cabinetry and countertops will be in place and the reorganization will be complete. Special thanks to our renovation volunteers: Tim Leizear for his construction expertise; Paul Pudlinsky for his architectural guidance; Fr. John for his overall help; and our painting crew: Rick Waterhouse, Nancy Leizear, Karen Schaeffer, Phyllis Doyle, Joanne Veter, Donna Boyd and Linda Gibeck.

The North Elk Coffee House is Back!

Mark your calendars for our first North Elk Coffee House Show of the 2019-2020 Season featuring guitarist Trae Sheehan.
We welcome this talented young singer songwriter to kick off our 23rd Season on Saturday, September 21, 2019
Doors open at 6:45 pm, show at 7:30 pm, requested donation of $10 at the door.
The North Elk Coffee House is in need of more volunteers to assist with our kitchen.
We need bakers, to bake and deliver items on the Saturday mornings of the shows. We also need people to manage the kitchen. Managers arrive on Saturday morning at 9:00 am on show day to set things up, and then return from 6:00 pm until around 10:00 pm to run things, manage service and clean-up. There are normally two or three other volunteers in the kitchen over the course of the evening to assist the manager. Managers commit to one of the eight shows during the season.
Shows are on the third Saturdays of the months of September through November and January through May.
This important mission of St. Mary Anne’s sends several thousand dollars a year to Meeting Ground to help the local homeless population. We would love to have your help! Church School Updates

Church school will be offered every week beginning on Sunday, September 15th; 9:45AM -10:30AM.
  • September 1: Students of all ages are encouraged to bring their backpacks to church for a blessing!
  • September 8: Come meet your teachers and register for church school at 9:30AM. While here, enjoy a special ice cream sundae treat during our annual Sundae Sunday celebration!
  • September 15th: Church School begins! Arrival at 9:45AM. Children will join family at 10:30AM in the church.
There will be a church school meeting for teachers/helpers on Saturday, September 7th from 9:00AM to 10:30AM in the Sunday School classroom.

Pictorial Directory

We hope to have our new pictorial directory in your hands by sometime this fall. Some of you missed the opportunity to have your photos taken during our April portrait sessions. If you would like to submit your photo by our September 1st deadline — and receive a directory–here are the requirements:
For photograph submission:
  • Write name and number on the back of photograph
  • Prefer minimum 4×6 photo
  • Poised photo with plain background if possible.
  • Photos will not be returned
For digital image submission:
  • jpg, pdf, or tif files accepted
  • Resolution should be 600×900 minimum
  • No selfies or travel pictures. Poised photos with plain background if possible.
And,
  1. $10.00 submission fee (no fee for active military)
  2. Complete form (available in parish office)
Within the next couple of weeks, we hope to send out a photographer to our homebound and senior community parishioners.
Dear “Camera shy” Parishioner:
All parishioners who choose not to have their picture included in the directory, can still have their contact information included. If you are in our database, we will include your name and contact information. If you do not want to have your name in our directory, please let us know by September 1st.

Youth Group & Acolyte Party

Calling all youth (6th through 12th grade) and all acolytes and their families for a pool party at the Floods on Sunday, September 1st, 12:00-3:00 PM (we will start as soon as we get home after the 10 o’clock service.)

We will have hot dogs for everyone, please bring snacks or a side to share. You can also bring something else to grill. We’ll have cookies for dessert. Please bring your swim suit and a towel. Please RSVP by Friday, August 30th
